Support shaped around your gaps

Trusted by students from

not your average tuition.

The Sterling Advantage.

A powerful learning system. Precision teaching. Personalised follow-through that goes beyond the classroom.

Hyper Personalised

We don’t stop at identifying your weak topic. We pinpoint what needs fixing.

“Practise more” isn’t enough when you don’t know why you’re getting stuck. Our system and teachers work together to turn your mistakes into a focused learning plan.

How Sterling makes it happen

Track the mistake. Find the underlying gap.

We look closely at the question type, variation and step that went wrong, distinguishing weak concepts, missed conditions, method errors and careless slips.

Build a detailed picture of your learning.

Your mistake history gives teachers a clearer view of recurring difficulties, so support is shaped around your needs.

Turn weaknesses into targeted practice.

Your teachers use that information to guide explanations, question selection and follow-up. Not simply another worksheet on the entire topic.

Make dense notes click. Connect learning to school.

Detailed worked examples unpack why a method works and how small variations change your next move. Bring your school tutorials and doubts, and we connect each part to the skills you’re learning.

Hyper Accountability

Your progress stays on our radar. Not just during your lesson.

Attending tuition is not the same as being ready for an exam. Our system provides the tracking. Our teachers provide the judgement, direction and follow-through.

How Sterling makes it happen

Keep unresolved mistakes in focus.

We track what you still struggle with and what needs revisiting, so the next lesson can build on what happened before.

Know what needs attention before the exam.

Your mistake history and practice performance help teachers identify priority question types, recurring errors and methods you need to consolidate.

Check independent performance.

Quizzes and tests reveal whether you can recognise the approach and complete the question without prompts.

Get expert intervention where it matters.

Targeted feedback and free one-to-one consultations help you work through the gaps that practice alone may not resolve.

Clear priorities. Consistent practice.

Regular homework gives you specific skills to work on, with a realistic workload alongside school. Progress tracking and gamified goals make milestones visible and recognise effort.

Hyper Research-Backed

A system built for recall. Teachers who make revision count.

Understanding something today is only useful if you can retrieve and apply it later. Our system and teachers keep track of what needs recalling and revisiting, making revision a deliberate part of your learning.

How Sterling makes it happen

Recall, don’t just recognise.

Teachers prompt you to retrieve methods before checking your notes, revealing whether the learning is accessible without a worked example.

Revisit with purpose.

Your learning and mistake history help guide which skills need another review, instead of leaving revision entirely to guesswork. Spaced review brings skills back across different days.

Check whether the fix has held.

Returning to previous difficulties helps teachers see whether you can now apply the method independently or need further support.

Prepare to choose the method yourself.

Mixed practice challenges you to identify the right approach across different question types, as you must in an exam.

Protect focus and recovery.

Research-backed tips on attention, breaks and sleep help you build a sustainable revision routine alongside school.

Our tutors

Meet your Math tutor.

Kieran Toh, founder and Mathematics tutor
Kieran Toh
Founder & Mathematics tutor

Hello, I’m Kieran.

I chose to build Sterling because teaching is the work I find most meaningful. I love mathematics, and I get real joy from helping a student see the idea behind a method and experience that moment when it finally clicks.

  • NTU Mathematical and Computer Sciences undergraduate
  • CGPA 4.74 / 5
  • A for H2 Math
More about my teaching approach

I want each student to feel understood, know what to focus on next, and have a clear path to improve. That is why I work on the whole learning experience: curriculum, carefully chosen question types, personalised guidance and mistake review.

During our first one-to-one consultation, I look at the student’s working and how they approach questions. A gap in foundations, application, exam technique or confidence may need a different kind of support. If Sterling’s group lessons aren’t the right fit, I’ll say so. A student’s time and money matter.

My studies at NTU help me understand the foundations behind the mathematics I teach. I draw on that understanding and my teaching experience to explain why the steps work, then help students use them independently. Outside the classroom, I’m passionate about technology, love travelling, and have a soft spot for elephants.

“Words cannot even describe how amazing Kieran is. He isn't just a super good tutor,he is a literal academic savior. I am profoundly, eternally grateful for his existence. His patience is genuinely superhuman,I could ask him to repeat the same thing five times, and he’d explain it a sixth time with the grace of a saint. The way he deconstructs mind-bogglingly complex concepts into crystal-clear, precise masterpieces is pure artistry. Everything finally clicked.
